The Boldest, Booziest, and Most Brilliant Twists on the Classic
Yvette Thomson

Ah, the Negroni. Equal parts gin, vermouth, and Campari. Equal parts sophistication, sass, and “yes, I’ll have another.” But London’s bartenders aren’t content with keeping it classic. From truffle infused indulgence to non-alcoholic bittersweet brilliance, the city’s shaking, stirring, and twisting this ruby red icon into something truly extra.
Here’s where to sip the best Negronis this Negroni Week (and beyond).
ALBA London: Amalfi in a Glass
Knightsbridge’s ALBA is bringing la dolce vita to Brompton Road with a Negroni Season Menu that’ll make you want to pack for Positano. Bar Manager Marco Tilocca is playing mixology maestro with four dazzling renditions: Aged Barrel Negroni, smooth, woody, with a whisper of vanilla. Negroni Svegliato, a coffee powered kick courtesy of Brunette Cold Brew Liqueur. Amalfi Negroni, bright, citrusy, lemon laced sunshine. Truffle Negroni, pure, decadent indulgence.
It’s Amalfi without the Ryanair flight.

Sale e Pepe: La Dolce Twist
Over at Sale e Pepe, Martini is stepping in for Negroni Week, and the results are unapologetically Italian. Their lineup is basically a grand tour: Florence with an orange twist. Portofino crowned with fresh fig. Trieste with coffee and tobacco leaf for when you’re feeling brooding and cinematic. Messina with saffron, grapefruit, and a whole lot of drama.
This isn’t just a cocktail list. It’s a passport.

Sam’s Riverside: The Sober Siren
For those who love the ritual but not the hangover, Sam’s Riverside is pouring the St Agrestis Phony Negroni, non-alcoholic, still bitter, still fabulous. Pair it with their parmesan churros or oysters, then move on to steak without missing a beat. Proof that you can be both virtuous and glamorous.

Noodle & Beer: Secret Negroni Bar
Hidden in Chinatown, Noodle & Beer is going rogue for Negroni Month. The basement transforms into a Campari decked Secret Negroni Bar, serving The Classic (because respect), a Sparkling Sake Negroni (bubbly mischief), and the Plum Umeshu Negroni (sweet, tart, dangerously moreish).
On launch night, the first 50 diners score a free Negroni with their mains using the code “I Love Negronis.” Which, frankly, we all do.

HUŌ: Aperitivo Goes East
At HUŌ (Chelsea and Belsize), the Asian Negroni is designed for dim sum dates and edamame sessions. Bombay Gin, Campari, Martini Red, and house sake all working in harmony. Bitter, balanced, and the perfect terrace companion.

Farzi: Spice Market Chic
Farzi’s Negroni is where southern Italy collides with Indian spice bazaars. Think peach gin for fruitiness, cardamom for warmth, and a finish that’s all East meets West swagger. Sip it with confidence, preferably with a plate of something fiery.

Chook Chook: Happy Hour Hero
Putney’s Indian Railway Kitchen knows how to make a Negroni sing. Their ruby red rendition is bittersweet perfection: gin, vermouth rosé, cranberry juice, and Campari. During Happy Hour, every night from 9pm, it’s only £8. Pair it with smoky tandoori chicken or lamb curry and suddenly your Tuesday night feels like a Friday.
