Roses are Red, Ivy is Green

(Valentine's is covered at Bangle Magazine)

A hand holding a spoon near a heart-shaped dessert in a black bowl. A red rose on a pink box with "The Ivy" text. Festive mood.

Ubiquitous or iconic? When it comes to Valentine's Day meals, it's best to keep it classic. Go too far left of field (with a Star Wars-themed banquet or offal-inspired tasting menu) and you might end up newly single.

At The Ivy this year, courses have been expertly paired with Perrier-Jouët's superior Blason Rosé. For starters, there's a choice of prawn cocktail, crispy duck salad or stilton and walnut cheese soufflé (if you didn't have your fill of cheese at Christmas), paving the way for a mouth-watering Foraged Wild Mushroom and Truffle Linguine for mains; that is, unless you fancy the Chicken Supreme Milanese, Blackened Cod Fillet, or - for a small supplement - a classic Fillet of Beef.

Sweets for your sweet? Absolutely. The Cupid’s Love Heart (pictured) is a gorgeously silky, white chocolate and vanilla parfait adorned with rose petals, created exclusively for Valentine’s Day by The Ivy’s executive chefs. Meanwhile, the ever-popular Chocolate Bombe and Crème Brûlée also form part of the selection.

And for every pair of star-cross'd diners, there's a beautiful Forever Rose to take home, but don't worry, you've been spared the table-side serenade.
