If you’ve ever needed an excuse to eat a donut at 11:30am on a weekday (and frankly, who hasn’t), National Donut Day on 6th June is your moment. And where better to celebrate it than at Donutelier’s sugar-dusted temple of decadence on Carnaby Street, where dough meets drama, and patisserie gets playful?
This year, Donutelier is going all-in with a full-blown Day Party that’s part luxury bakehouse, part disco, and all kinds of delicious. The first 100 lucky guests will be handed a free donut straight out of the oven – and if that’s not incentive to take an early lunch, we don’t know what is.
New Flavours, Who Dis?
To mark the occasion, Donutelier is unveiling three new headliners in their Main Collection, and they’re every bit as extra as you’d expect from the haute couture of hole-in-the-middle baking.
Berry Macaron: A Paris-meets-Instagram moment, this beauty comes stuffed with rose, raspberry and lychee ganache, topped with Chantilly cream, fresh berries and an actual macaron crown. Basically a picnic and a patisserie in one.
Lemon Meringue: Tangy lemon curd inside, vanilla sugar crust outside, and a toasted meringue swirl perched on top like a sugary tiara. It’s what Mary Berry dreams about.
Double Chocolate Sprinkles: For anyone who’s ever said “more chocolate please” mid-bite, this is your guy – milk Chantilly, chocolate glaze, ganache, sugar sprinkles and a double choc cookie on top. Death by chocolate? Worth it.
Not to be upstaged, the Banoffee Pecan Cookie also drops on the 6th – banana chocolate dough, caramelised banana, toffee caramel and pecan praline. It’s giving dessert drama.
Drinks That Deserve Their Own Runway
Naturally, Donutelier couldn’t launch new donuts without launching drinks to match – because hydration is key, especially when it tastes like Berry Pink Lemonade with rose petals and mint. Or perhaps the Yuzu Mint Lemonade, all zesty sparkle and summer vibes. For the full indulgence experience? The Rochers Frappé – a milk chocolate fantasy in a cup – is your golden ticket.
Spin the Wheel, Drop the Beat
From 1pm, the sugar high gets competitive with a “Spin the Wheel” game offering donut-y prizes (because why not win a donut while holding a donut?). Meanwhile, a live DJ keeps the party rolling with a set that’s hopefully as sweet as the baked goods.
Whether you’re a loyal Donutelier groupie or just donut-curious, Carnaby Street is the only place to be on 6th June. Don’t sleep on it – those first 100 donuts won’t last, and neither will your willpower when you see that Berry Macaron glistening in the window.
