MARCH RESTAURANT HIGHLIGHTS IN THE U.K.

March restaurant highlights in the U.K. include an International Womenâs Day guest appearance from Savannah Hagendijk of Amsterdamâs De Kas at Londonâs Firebird on Saturday 8th, and two unique dining experiences from Simon Rogan MBE (one at Suffolkâs Yoxman and another at Our Farm in Cartmel).Â
Seating slots for Firebirdâs pop-up IWD menu are almost gone, but lucky diners can expect an array of inventive dishes such as roasted beets with blood orange and kosho hollandaise, yakitori-style skewers of mussel and pumpkin with kumquat and burned mussel aioli, plus Jerusalem artichoke ice cream with a rosemary caramel and anise panna cotta and violet sorbet, made with flowers from the De Kas kitchen garden.
As for Simon Rogan, weâre keen to follow his stellar stint at Yoxmanâs rural retreat with Dan Cox and Nathan Davies from 7th - 10th March, where guests are promised three days of âculinary wizardry.â
Bookings for Simonâs farm tour and informal banquet at Our Farm in the Lake District open on 3rd March. Running on select Mondayâs May to September, this unique experience will be available for up to 16 diners at a time, who will have the option for an overnight stay.Â
BANGLE got a sneak peek at the menu:
Einkorn sourdough, toasted hay butter.
Heritage short rib of beef glazed in a fermented runner bean sauce.
Salad of Our Farm cress, pickled cucumber, Red Baron onions, burnt chive dressing.
Charlotte potatoes, summer Savory salt.
Duncan cabbage, Florence fennel, and broad bean.
Farm Kale, garlic & chili oil.
Woodruff infused burnt cheesecake, Josta berry jam.
